Akzo Nobel Safety Services operates several highly sophisticated experimental facilities in Deventer, the Netherlands.

These purpose-built safety research laboratories are equipped with 14 concrete test cells, allowing the safe assessment of potentially hazardous products and processes.

The safety laboratories contain a vast number of specialized standard- and proprietary test equipment. A separate large-scale test cell and a completely closed testing device (‘Total Containment Tank’) are available for performing large-scale experiments.
