The test facilities of Akzo Nobel Safety Services include an extensive range of both commercially available and proprietary instruments. These highly specialized and sophisticated laboratory tools allow us to determine virtually all safety-related parameters such as the heat evolution of chemical and biological reactions, the thermal- and storage stability of substances, their reactivity, explosivity and burning behavior and many other aspects. Other Safety Tests & Specific Capabilities
A substantial number of different safety-related tests are available. Most of our tests can be carried out under extreme conditions. Examples include determination of auto-ignition temperatures in pure oxygen or pure chlorine, runaway experiments on large-scale (up to 50 liters), determining gas- and dust explosion properties in uncommon (other than air) atmospheres, batch process simulations up to 50 bar/300°C and many more.
A separate large-scale test cell and a completely closed testing device ('Total Containment Tank') are available for performing large-scale experiments.
